Only a handful of Bitcoin mining devices released in 2018 deemed profitable

Over the last 12 months, there has been an increase in Bitcoin mining rigs. The rigs have been claiming to consume less energy and do more processing and thus increase profit margins. According to reports, this is far from reality considering that cryptocurrencies have been enduring a rather torrid period this year. Only a handful of the Bitcoin mining devices released in 2018 have been deemed profitable. Some of the mining devices available cannot be purchased on open market.

Profitable mining devices

A statistics report by Asicminervalue indicated that only five mining devices have been able to make profit in 2018. Two of the said machines are currently not available on the market. Electrical costs, current network difficulty, block reward, and cryptocurrency exchange rates are some of the parameters used to determine whether a mining rig is making profit.

The profitable mining ASIC machines include Ebang Ebit E11++, ASICminer 8 Nano 44Th, Innosiicon T3 43T, ASICminer 8 Nano Pro, and Bitmain Antminer S15 (28Th). Ebang Ebit E11++ is the most profitable among the five boasting of a hashrate of 44Th per second while consuming slightly over 1,900W. Ebang’s mining rig is priced at $2,500 and it makes a profit of $1.39 in a day with the current Bitcoin market value.

The Ebang Ebit E11++ is available on open market and is sold by two companies. One vendor is receiving preorders. Like the Ebang mining rig, the ASICminer 8 Nano also has a hashrate of 44Th per second but consumes a slightly higher power of 2100W. The rig was launched in October 2018 and makes a profit of $1.02 daily. Mining cave, a Canadian crypto dealer sells the ASICminer 8 Nano for $2,045.

The Innosiicon T3 43T model is not available to the public yet but it boasts of a hashrate of 43Th per second. The model will be launched in January 2019 at a price of $2,500 per machine. Current market statistics report that it makes a profit of about $0.84 per day. The ASICminer 8 Nano pro, on the other hand, works at a hashrate of 76Th per second consuming 4000W and makes a profit of 0.59 per day. The Bitmain Antminer S15 model works with a hashrate of 28 consuming 1596W and makes the least profit at $0.27 per day.
